Twitter

Unless you live under a rock with no internet or television, I am sure you have heard about Twitter. It seems the pundits can't decide if it is the best new news outlet since CNN, the new Facebook Killer or just a total flash in the pan that will die out next month. I have no idea, but I am always game to try anything internet related, so I have an account on Twitter. RivesCPA It is interesting, I post messages, usually links to my blog or website. Primarily it is about sharing information and hopefully developing a relationship with folks. Maybe even getting some new clients from it, although that has not happened yet.
It is kind of addictive. I follow several folks who generally post about business, tax or accounting topics. I am amazed at the number of twit apps (that's twitter applications) that are available. You can run twitter ads to get folks to go to your twitter page. Featuredusers. You can create a Twitter business card and send the card to anyone else on twitter. Twtbizcard In fact once you
set up an account you don't even have to go back to
Twitter a lot of folks use TweetDeck or HootSuite to interface with their Twitter account. I also like a site called Ping that let's you post updates to just about any of your social media sites at
once.

Now I am no Ashton Kutcher the king of Twitter who has 3 million follows. I only have a little over 2000. Oprah has 2 million and Ellen DeGeneres has over 2.5 million. Those statistics may give you some insight into the future of Twitter. Actually I do follow Ellen, I think she is a funny lady.

Regardless of what the future of Twitter is, if you are on there or decide to sign up, I made it easy for you if your tastes run something like mine. Copy the list of names below (Ctrl C), then go to NinjaFollow and paste the names into the box.
